Curriculum

Each year Camp Cedar Glen receives a fully developed curriculum from Cal-Pac Camps for the summer programs. This curriculum is written by a team of pastors, teachers, and various youth leaders with a range of degrees in theology and education. This curriculum is protestant based, but also aims at being inclusive to all beliefs and is encouraging to children at all stages of their faith journey. Once Camp Cedar Glen has received the curriculum from the district, each leadership team works on dissecting and using the best curriculum possible for their particular age group.

No matter how old your camper is, the theme, scripture, and focus is the same for all three summer camps. At each camp how the information is taught, explored, and talked about is different based on age and maturity level. For example, a group of 10-year-olds may listen to their counselor read the scripture and then work on a group skit to perform in order to better understand the story. A group of 17-year-olds may read the scripture and then have an in depth conversation on the implications of this scripture in their lives.

This is the basic overview of what camp will focus on each day. The leadership team may change the order of the days, change a bible story, or even change a certain days theme depending on what they think is best for their campers. Because we give leadership this freedom the agenda may not exactly follow what your child is focusing on each day. If you have any questions please contact us.
